The Peoria, Decatur & Evansville Railway

 Name:  Herget (Siding), Illinois(elevation 539')
 Mile Post:  21.25
 Previous Station:  Green Valley
 Next Station:  Holmes Switch
Description:  Herget was just south of where the GM&O (Chicago & Alton) crossed the line in 1898.  Discussions about how this crossing would happen were lengthy.  At first, the newcomer was to cross overhead.  In the end though, an at grade crossing was made and an interlocking tower constructed.  Herget was still being listed in the track charts in 1978.
